The York County Amateur Golf Association exists for the purpose of promoting golf in York County, Pennsylvania. This organization was founded in 1951 for the love of the game. We are a volunteer-driven, non-profit organization that represents member clubs by presenting amateur championships, pursuant to USGA guidelines, for male golfers in York County.
RATING AND SLOPING SERVICES
The Association maintains a rating team locally as part of the GAP (Golf Association of Philadelphia) and will perform rating and sloping services for our member clubs thru the GAP. The Association currently has two teams which rate every member course on a nine-year rotation and which also rate any other course requesting the service thru the GAP and as scheduled by the GAP. These teams of volunteers will rate about 5 to 10 courses each year, with each course requiring a full day’s commitment from the team rating it. Ratings compiled by these teams are reviewed by the GAP Rating and Sloping Committee to make sure that criteria are being consistently applied. This allows any player with a valid USGA Handicap Index to fairly compete against any other player with a USGA Handicap.
SCHOLARSHIPS
YCAGA awards at least one $500 scholarship to graduating high school seniors each year. See the Scholarship Info page for more information.

Our EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE consists of six positions. They are as follows: (elected positions) Executive Director, Tournament Director, Secretary and Treasurer. (selected positions) President (club representative from this years host course for the Amateur Championship) and Vice President (club representative from next years host course for the Amateur Championship).
