Point System for War of the Roses Points
Beginning JULY 31, 2009

  • Point Period: Points for the war of the roses run from the Mid-Amateur of the previous year through the completion of the YCAGA Amateur of the current year, with the exception of the Club Championship points which are from the previous year.  Example: The points for this years war of the roses are all Club Champions from last year plus any points you earned from the Mid-Amateur ,Champion of Champions, Amateur Match Play, Two Man Scramble and any PA State Event or USGA Event which takes place after the YCAGA Amateur Championship of the previous year added to the Spring Better Ball, Interclub and Amateur Championship from the current year.
  •
  • Each YCAGA Tournament Entered & Played = 20 points
  •
  • Match Play Championship (Amateur Division Only): Point breakdown: 64 player field: 1st place -= 225  2nd = 180 3rd = 170  4th = 160  5th -8th = 85  9th - 16th = 40.   32 player field:  1st place -= 225  2nd = 180 3rd = 170  4th = 160  5th -8th = 80.

  • Spring Better Ball (Gross Division Only): 1st place = 175 points, 2nd place = 125 points, 3rd = 120 points 4th = 115 points and so on down to 35 points.  However, these points will be split with your partner.  In the event of a tie the points will be combined and split.  Example of a tie: Let’s assume that two teams tie for 2nd place, the points will be distributed as follows (125 points for 2nd + 120 points for 3rd = 245 divided by the two teams = 122.5 per team or 61.25 per player).

Example of a tie:  Let’s assume that two players tie for 2nd place, the points will be distributed as follows (125 points for 2nd + 120 points for 3rd = 245 divided by the two players = 122.5 for each player).
